Ever wondered why diseases like diabetes and hypertension mainly affect people of African Caribbean heritage?
Well the university of the West Indies (UWI) has conducted some research linking some of these diseases to slavery and colonisation.
This Thursday 22 April, a symposium is taking place to share some of this research.
They want to arm future generations with the tools to help manage their health and overcome some of these diseases.
