The Jamaica Society & Friends

On Saturday 14th November, The Jamaica Society & Friends *Reading* will be holding our online General Meeting at 3pm.

*Due to a recent Zoom update you will now need to sign up for a free Zoom account (if you do not already have one) to access the meeting. If you don’t sign up, it will not let you join a meeting* (there is no way to fix this issue unfortunately). If you don't have access to the internet on the day you can dial into the meeting (instructions below).

Please be aware that you *may be charged by your phone contract provider for dialling in to the meeting.*

Unfortunately, I currently do not know what the charges would be (if any) as Zoom could not tell me. For security reasons please write your name in the 'Your Name' box when you join the meeting.

*Zoom Set-Up (Computer/Tablet/Smartphone)*

Please sign in to Zoom to join a meeting, or sign up for a free account.

Press the *'Sign Up'* button on Zoom's home screen (on a mobile or tablet) then follow the instructions to make a free account.

On a phone or a tablet you can press the Join button and put in a Meeting ID (the number pad should pop up) and then a passcode which is in the invite.

You will be automatically put in the waiting room. Once you are let into the room make sure you turn your audio and camera on.

You need to download the Zoom App on your phone or tablet before you can join a meeting. It can be found in the Google Play store (Android) or App Store (ios -Apple).

*Zoom Phone (Landline/Non-Smartphone Mobile)*

You will need to dial one of the 'One Tap Mobile' numbers to dial into the meeting.  

Dial 02039017895 or 01314601196, you will then be asked to put in the Meeting ID (868 0522 1041), followed by the (hash) # key. You may be asked the question again, listen to the end and press the (hash) # key again.

Then you will be asked to enter the Passcode/Password (869056) followed by a (hash) # key. It will then give you instructions and put you in the waiting room.
