Ministry of Justice say ' No to Reading Gaol Arts Centre'..
Within the Reading Forbury Gardens Gaol there is much history within its prison walls, some would love to see the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) change its views. However, the MoJ has vowed to keep its bid alive as a future option.
A Call for a discussion with Ministers to emphasise the huge historical and cultural value of the vacant site from the Reading Borough Council.
Because Reading Borough Council believe there is a huge historical and cultural value in Reading Gaol. And the Reading Council says 'any potential future development is still not fully recognised by the MoJ or its advisers'.
Reading Borough Council is today (May 18th) publishing details of its bid at https://www.reading.gov.uk/gaol-bid/ to show what is possible to achieve with the site.
