Solidarity March for Palestine - June 5th 2021

Reading witnessed an unprecedented turnout for the Solidarity March for Palestine that took place 16th May. Despite the rain, over 1000 people came to demonstrate solidarity and demand an end to bloodshed in Gaza.

Hundreds were killed and thousands injured. Tens of thousands were displaced. Many children were killed.

On Saturday 5th June there will be a vigil to remember all those who were killed and injured, but especially the children.

We ask the good people of Reading to join us again. Gather in Broad Street, opposite the Oracle entrance, at 3.00pm.

We have an excellent line-up of speakers and there will be a special ceremony for the children. Please come along and support.

We hope and pray the ceasefire holds for a very long time, but the reality is that unless the root cause is addressed, it is just a matter of time before there is another war.

For there to be a lasting peace, there needs to be justice. The Palestinians are the underdog: resisting and existing against all the odds. Mainstream media have packed up and gone.

However, the occupation continues: the daily brutalisation and humiliation; theft of land and property; ethnic cleansing; apartheid.

*** Please share, share and share immediately. Please come on Saturday 5th June, bring as many others as you can with you. ***
