Dear Reading Community Leaders,
We are pleased to announce that Get Berkshire Active are currently planning a third phase of Tackling Inequalities Funding and therefore we are currently seeking organisations that would be interested in applying.
Whilst your organisation might not be eligible for this fund we believe you may have organisations within your network that might like to apply and would therefore be grateful if you could share this information with them.
The Tackling Inequalities Fund exists to help reduce the negative impact of coronavirus and the widening of the inequalities in sport and physical activity. Funding will enable community groups working with specific audiences to continue to exist and engage with their communities, with a view to keeping them active during both the lockdown and early recovery stages.
As has always been the case this fund is an emergency fund for organisations (charities, community groups, CIC’s or similar) working with one or more of the following audiences;
Individuals with a disability
Individuals with a long term health condition
Ethnically and culturally diverse communities
Low Socio-economic groups
There must be a line of sight to physical activity in any project, work or costs funded – however, you don’t need to be a physical activity/sport related organisation to apply.
Any support covered by the funding is intended to meet immediate need up until October 2021.
For this phase we would like to emphasise the following points related to this fund
It can be used to help organisations financially survive coming weeks – for example, funding can be used to cover costs such as utility bills and insurance. Or, we realise its very possible that there are organisations/clubs that would ordinarily have paying members and due to the pandemic, may have gone for a long period without this income, ultimately threatening the future of the organisation/club.
Please get in touch if this applies to your organisation/club.
A proportion of funding awarded can be used to help support organisations improve/strengthen their governance – for example, ensuring your organisation is complying with all applicable laws and regulations. I’ve attached a document providing more details on what this governance support might envisage.
And it can be used to fund delivery, either remotely or, when restrictions ease, face to face
