Man charged following burglary – Reading

Following a Thames Valley Police investigation, a man has been charged with burglary, theft from a motor vehicle, assault by beating and assault by beating an emergency worker in Reading.

Jordan Searle, aged 29, of Thurso Close in Reading was arrested on Sunday (16/5) and charged with the offences the following day.

The charges are in connection with an incident that occurred on Sunday at 7.30pm in which a man entered a property on Oxford Road in Reading and took items from inside the house, garage and car.

The man also assaulted the owner of the home, a man in his fifties, when he was confronted, and assaulted a police officer.

Searle has been remanded in custody and will next appear at Reading Crown Court on 14 June 2021.
